Gaming Statistics: Down 24 Percent, Industry Starting To Decline?

We had spotted multiple gaming stats in the past - we spotted a rather troubling stat for the industry today, with overall sales falling 24 percent year-on-year for 2012 (Source) - this is traditional gaming, so the gaming dollars are moving towards Apple and Facebook presumably - with Apple ready to be on top of the whole heap.

One issue could be the portability of devices given the mobility of people. Home is where your gaming console is. But on the road, its the devices you carry with you that finally decide where the dollars go!
