We spotted this rather interesting stat on the Hadoop ecosystem - an IDC report, that says that it would grow to be a 813 million software ecosystem by 2016 (Source) - Well we have some solid estimates on the cloud overall as well (how big is the cloud exactly) - how do we digest these numbers?

If you forget the absolute numbers for a moment, these are tremendous growth areas in IT overall. If you consider the overall IT growth rate trends, these are among the few areas with double digit growth rates. Very, very promising.
