The longest recorded flight of a chicken is thirteen seconds

An interesting stat is that the longest recorded flight of a chicken is thirteen seconds. This was achieved by a chicken named Mike, owned by farmer, Ken Edwards of Fruita, Colorado, USA, in 1945. This record flight may seem short, but it is quite impressive for a bird that is not known for its flying abilities.
