We had spotted some stats earlier showing the size of WordPress as a publishing platform, and how important it is, for the Internet overall (Read: Which Website Is As Big As Facebook?. The mix is magical - the community, plugins, themes, support etc (Statspotting runs on WordPress). We spotted this stat today, that 20 to 25 percent of all new websites launched, use WordPress as the publishing platform (Source).

That is just huge. Remember, we are talking about the Internet overall. We are definitely living in a WordPress world.
