Smartphone Statistics: 71 Percent of Smartphones Sold are Android or iOS

"Apple and Google now control well over two-thirds of the U.S. smartphone market, comScore‘s latest report shows.

Android’s dominance over the U.S. smartphone market increased from 38.1% to 43.7%, and iOS’s market share increased from 26.6% to 27.3% in the three months ending with August 2011"
