The World Tweets Once For Every 1778 E-Mails Sent

Twitter shared some new stats today - 140 Million Tweets per day and some Tweets Per Second stats. As usual, we tried to understand and digest this number by trying to compare with something we are more familiar with - emails.

In 2010, the world sent an average of 249 Billion Emails PER DAY.
Twitter has a run rate of 140 Million Tweets PER DAY.

So there it is, our number - for every 1778 Emails, the world tweets once.

Not bad for an activity that was invented 5 years back !
