This is something we need to do more frequently here at Statspotting - here is a direct trend - IT workers, in addition to bringing their own devices, could soon be bringing their own applications - in an increasingly app driven world (Source)

This could easily become a trend, given the BYOD trend that is already on. This could be big, given all the corporate data security related issues. Or, it would be a major opportunity space for some player to come along and fill these new gaps.
